Forest & Sustainability

Ever since I read the wonderful book We are creatures of the forest: Why we are inseparable from the trees by Wolf-Dieter Storl, I have felt a strong desire to stand up for the forest. Storl clearly explains where we humans originally come from (spoiler: from the forest) and how we have been shaped biologically and culturally by the forest over thousands (or millions, depending on how you look at it) of years. In contrast, today we feel alienated from the world and from nature, which causes us to do massive damage to the planet without feeling bad about it or changing anything. Only when we manage to rebuild the ancient connection to the forest (both physically and spiritually) will we be able to look at the world in a way that makes it impossible to exploit and destroy it.

I would like to re-establish this connection for myself and would like to describe the path I am taking. As an expression of my commitment, I have also joined the NABU and would like to do more to protect the forest here.

The forest is the epitome of sustainability. Consequently, it was immediately clear to me to tackle the greatest challenge of our time - a sustainable way of life - and I would like to share these experiences here again and again.

I have been dealing with the identification of plants for a long time and am happy to make my collection available here. Not so many at the moment because I still have to upload and describe them. Here are the plants!
